Our Butter Quark Turnover consists of a flaky laminated yeast dough (with a high butter content – 20%) folded by hand and filled with a generous amount of fresh Quark, which makes this European pastry crispy on the outside and very moist in the center. 

Our secret ingredient, Quark (pronounced “kwɑːk”), is a fresh European white cheese with a moist, creamy texture and subtle taste. It is often compared to a cross between yogurt and cottage cheese.
Quark cheese, a staple in German kitchens, is also naturally fat free, high in protein and gut friendly. 

This unique, German inspired pastry has a perfect combination of richness, crispiness, slight sweetness and creaminess all at once – The Quark cheese makes for a perfect twist on a classic recipe for an elevated pastry experience!

Pastries will ship with dry ice and may arrive cold and not frozen. Don’t worry, they are fully baked!

Upon delivery, please place in freezer, or eat right away.


  • Keep frozen at all time (4F/-18C).
  • Frozen shelf life: 12 month
  • Refrigerated shelf life: 3 days
  • Ambient shelf life: up to 48 hrs.

Orders are shipped on Mondays and Wednesdays ONLY to ensure that items arrive fresh at their destination before the weekend. Any order received on Wednesday and through the weekend will ship the following Monday.In case of holidays we slightly adjust to make sure the package stay as little time as possible in transit ;)

  • Place frozen pastry on a tray, uncovered, and thaw at room temperature for approx. 1hr (never defrost the products in the case, or they could get crushed). Heat the pastry in a 350F oven between 5 to 8 min, until fully warm throughout.
  • Once defrosted, do not refreeze.

    I have been searching for a good cheese danish for many many years with virtually no success finding disappointing dough, filling and flavor. Since the kouign amanns and the beignets from KRMA are absolutely delicious, I decided to give these quarks a try. They are absolute PERFECTION! Flaky pastry surrounding a generous cheese filling which is not too sweet and delicious!! They are a work of art!!
