Travel the world without leaving home

Travel without leaving home

The COVID-19 pandemic has limited our ability to travel and experience new places and cultures. In many ways, we’ve been housebound all year—work from home, school from home, only online shopping, no movies theatres, no bars… The list goes on. That means people have gotten creative with what they can do to entertain and enrich their lives from home.

At KRMA Foods, we believe food has the power to create a fun-filled mood and culinary adventure—all from the comfort (and safety) of your home! Our founders, Krystel, Rachel, and Marine, believe the “high-vibe” lifestyle requires good food, good community, and good vibes of course!

But, while food is essential to life, we know a truly high-vibe life requires more than pastries (though a mini beignet variety pastry box sure is a good start!). That’s why we’ve compiled a few ways we’ve enriched our lives with a broader cultural experience during this year of quarantine. Here’s how we’ve traveled the world without leaving home during a pandemic!

Learn a new language.

Learning a new language is not only a great mental exercise and challenge, but it also helps you familiarize yourself with a new culture and prepares you to blend in when you can travel again. (Who doesn’t want to be able to effortlessly order a French pastry in French?)

These days, thanks to modern technology, learning a new language is easier than ever. Forget high school Spanish class—you can use one of several affordable online programs or apps to learn at your own speed and convenience. Three of our favorites include Duolingo, Babbel, and Rosetta Stone.

Satisfy your wanderlust by watching travel-inspired films.

You know that list of highly-acclaimed international films you’ve meant to watch for years but never had the time to get around to it? Well, now’s the time! Travel the world through your screen from the safety of your home.

And if you’re not in the mood for a dark and serious drama (isn’t 2020 dark and serious enough?), there are plenty of lighthearted romps filmed in beautiful international settings you can enjoy. Here are some of our faves:

  • Eat, Pray, Love
  • The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
  • Mamma Mia
  • Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
  • Crazy Rich Asians
  • Under the Tuscan Sun
  • Letters to Juliet
  • Midnight in Paris

Oh, and Netflix shows totally count, too… Emily in Paris, anyone?

Last but not least… Broaden your palate horizons with flavors from around the world!

Food is not only essential to life, it’s a joy and comfort that is especially important during these scary times. KRMA Foods prides itself on providing delicious, nutritious, and internationally-inspired treats to quarantiners across the nation.

With the holiday season upon us, once again, things are going to look a little different. We may not be able to have the large gatherings we look forward to every year, but enjoying delicious food is one thing that doesn’t have to change. In fact, why not go big with food if we have to go small with our gatherings?

Gift the gift of delicious international flavors to your loved ones this holiday season. Here are a few of our offerings:

  • French pastries such as the famous queen of pastries, the Kouign Amann
  • French beignets
  • Pastry gift boxes
  • Superfood breads
  • German Pastries : Triangle Pastries, Greek Spinach Strudel, Fruit Quark Baskets
  • Latin bites such as Tequenos
  • And much, much more!
